Role Description The System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems that support the firm’s investment and business operations.
Day-to-day tasks include monitoring system performance, performing upgrades and configurations, resolving technical issues, and ensuring system security and reliability.
The System Engineer collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand technology needs, provides technical support for users, documents system configurations and procedures, and participates in planning and executing infrastructure improvements.
Required Technical Skills
• Full-stack development: JavaScript/React (or similar) frontends with Python (FastAPI) backends, REST and WebSocket APIs
• PostgreSQL: schema design, RBAC/permission modeling, query performance, backups
• Cloud & infrastructure: hands-on experience with AWS — IAM, VPC networking, EC2, RDS (PostgreSQL), and ALB/ACM for load balancing & TLS
• Linux server administration: system, nginx reverse-proxy/TLS configuration, Cloudflare Tunnel/DNS
• Authentication & security: JWT/session-based auth, RBAC design, auditing systems for gaps and configuration drift
• Git-based version control and CI/CD deployment workflows
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Preferably 2–5 years of relevant professional experience on the buy side
• Fresh graduates may also be considered dependent on skillset and experience
• A track record of deploying and maintaining full-stack, production infrastructure
• Business fluency in English; Chinese a plus
• Good communicator with strong work ethic and integrity; proactive and self-motivated
• Office location in Central; full-time role; compensation negotiable according to experience and expertise
