Laravel Backend Developer

About the Company The company is an international B2B SaaS business helping globally distributed companies manage their IT devices and equipment more efficiently. The platform supports the full device lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, tracking, support, retrieval, and secure disposal across multiple countries. About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on Backend Developer who can take ownership of features from development through deployment. You’ll join a lean product team and work directly with the CTO and Product Manager to build reliable backend systems, improve platform performance, and solve real operational challenges faced by global customers. This role is suitable for someone who can work independently, communicate clearly, and ship quality work without needing step-by-step direction. Responsibilities Build, maintain, and improve backend features using PHP and LaravelOwn features from technical planning through deploymentDesign and build secure REST APIs and third-party integrationsWrite clean, maintainable, and testable codeDebug and resolve technical issues independentlyWork with MySQL or PostgreSQL databasesDeploy and monitor backend services on AWSImprove system performance, reliability, and scalabilityCollaborate with the CTO, Product Manager, and engineering teamUse AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity Requirements At least 2 years of hands-on backend development experience using PHP and LaravelExperience contributing meaningfully to a medium or large applicationStrong experience building REST APIsGood SQL knowledge using MySQL or PostgreSQLHands-on AWS deployment or monitoring experienceUnderstanding of Laravel design patterns, queues, jobs, service providers, and observersAble to work independently and solve ambiguous problemsStrong ownership and accountabilityProfessional English proficiency, minimum C1Comfortable working in a lean and fast-moving product environment Nice to Have Experience with multi-tenant applicationsExperience with Laravel queues and batch processingExperience with OAuth, webhooks, or third-party SDKsExposure to CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with AI coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Hiring Process Screening call with Hidden GemsCoding test administered by Hidden GemsCoding test review by the CTO60-minute technical interview with the CTO60-minute final interview with the CEO
