Software Specialist - API Platform Help keep critical integration platforms secure, reliable and ready for what's next Thousands of interactions happen across ASB every day, and behind many of them sits a platform that keeps systems connected, services available and information flowing where it needs to go. We're looking for a Software Specialist to join our Core Integration squad, helping support and evolve the API platforms that underpin key services across the bank. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the technology they own. You'll work across platform engineering, automation, operational support and software development, helping ensure critical services remain secure, stable and performing at their best. About The Team The Core Integration squad is responsible for the platforms and services that enable systems across ASB to communicate reliably and securely. Working in a collaborative environment, the team balances platform ownership, operational excellence and continuous improvement. The work is varied, covering everything from platform support and vulnerability remediation through to automation, observability and software development. About The Role This role focuses primarily on ASB's API platform while supporting middleware and BizTalk services where required. You'll contribute across the full platform lifecycle, including API development, platform operations, CI/CD, automation, observability, server management and production support. You'll help improve the reliability and maintainability of critical services while contributing to ongoing platform enhancements. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, improving operational efficiency and taking ownership of the platforms they support. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain APIs using C# and .NET technologiesBuild and enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment automationCreate automation solutions using PowerShell and related toolingDevelop and maintain observability dashboards and monitoring solutionsSupport server administration, patching and vulnerability remediation activitiesInvestigate and resolve production issues across the API platformImprove platform reliability, performance and operational efficiencySupport middleware and BizTalk services where requiredContribute to platform upgrades, enhancements and maintenance activitiesParticipate in an on-call support roster once fully established in the role About You You're a hands-on engineer who enjoys working across both development and operations. You like understanding how platforms work, identifying opportunities for improvement and using automation to reduce manual effort. You'll bring strong troubleshooting skills, a practical mindset and a genuine interest in building reliable services. You're comfortable working independently, collaborating with others and taking ownership of technical outcomes.
