Summary
✨ AI‑Generated
Work on advanced systems designed to address ad-blocking behavior at scale. You will investigate new blocking techniques, reproduce failures, develop reliable solutions across multiple system layers, and turn individual incidents into reusable production improvements rather than one-off fixes.
Highlights
High-impact engineering role combining technical research with production development, with broad ownership across runtime, delivery, detection, and edge systems.
Description
About Ad-Shield
Billions of ad impressions disappear every day because of ad blockers, destroying over $200B in publisher revenue annually.
Ad-Shield builds next-generation adblock recovery technology that helps publisher restore this lost revenue and turn blocked traffic into a sustainable revenue channel. We are one of the fastest-growing teams in global ad-tech.
With a lean, high-leverage team, we generate millions of dollars in revenue per employee and are scaling an 8-figure net revenue portfolio toward 9-figure potential.
About the Role
We are looking for a software engineer to work on our anti-adblock systems.
You will investigate new blocking behavior, reproduce failures, and build reliable solutions across our runtime, delivery, detection, and edge systems. The work combines technical research with production engineering.
The goal is to turn individual incidents into product improvements that work across publishers, rather than apply one-off patches.
Prior anti-adblock experience is not required.
What You Will Do
Investigate new blocking behavior across browser extensions, filter rules, scriptlets, browser APIs, and network-level tools.Build and improve the runtime, script delivery, detection, fallback, and edge systems behind our product.Own problems from reproduction and root-cause analysis through implementation, rollout, and verification.Turn recurring failures into reusable defenses, regression tests, monitoring, and safer rollout practices.Define and track reliability metrics such as coverage, false positives, page integrity, and time to detection and recovery.
Qualifications
Strong software engineering fundamentals and the judgment to work independently in unfamiliar codebases.Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills and a solid understanding of browsers, the DOM, HTTP, networking, caching, and CDNs.Strong debugging and research skills.
You can reproduce inconsistent behavior, inspect runtime and network state, and test hypotheses with evidence.A systems mindset, with attention to observability, failure modes, regression prevention, and rollout safety.End-to-end ownership from research and technical design through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and retrospective improvement.
Nice to Have
Experience with browser internals, browser extensions, or content-filtering technologies such as CSP, Service Workers, filter rules, or scriptlets.Experience with reverse engineering, security research, anti-tampering, or other adversarial systems.Experience with Cloudflare Workers, CDNs, edge computing, or high-traffic web infrastructure.Experience with browser automation, E2E testing, monitoring, or incident response.Familiarity with GAM, Prebid, header bidding, IVT, consent platforms, or publisher monetization.
