Infrastructure IT Operations Engineer (Batam)
The Infrastructure IT Operations Engineer will be responsible for overseeing IT infrastructure, service delivery, and operational excellence across Nscale’s Batam sites.
This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of enterprise systems and site-level IT environments supporting critical Data Centre operations.
You will lead regional IT teams and vendors, drive operational standards, ensure compliance, and act as the primary escalation point for IT-related matters within the region.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical depth, operational discipline, and experience in mission-critical environments.
What You'll Be Doing
Regional IT Operations Management
Lead day-to-day IT operations across multiple sites within the APAC regionEnsure high availability of enterprise IT systems and site-level infrastructureOversee network, systems, end-user computing, and on-site IT supportImplement and enforce IT operational standards and best practices
Infrastructure & Systems
Manage regional network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs)Oversee server environments (on-prem and cloud)Ensure reliability of monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and security systemsSupport IT infrastructure within Data Centre and operational facilities
Service Delivery & Support
Own regional IT service management (incident, problem, change management)Ensure SLAs and KPIs are consistently metAct as senior escalation point for critical incidentsDrive root cause analysis and continuous improvement
Security & Compliance
Enforce cybersecurity policies and best practicesEnsure compliance with company standards and relevant regulatory requirementsPartner with InfoSec to implement controls and conduct audits
Vendor & Budget Management
Manage regional IT vendors and service providersOversee procurement and lifecycle management of IT assetsManage regional IT budget and cost optimization
About You
Bachelor Degree in Information Systems/Computer Engineering or equivalentAt least 5+ years in IT Infrastructure and Operations managing regional/multi-site environmentExperience in Enterprise Networking (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet), Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)Experience in Data Centres, mission-critical infrastructure, or high-availability environments preferredExperience working in fast-growth or scaling organizations is a plusStrong written and verbal English skills to manage tickets, document activities, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and colocation (colo) providersStrong communication skills in Bahasa IndonesiaStrong hands-on server repair experienceData center / DC technician backgroundFamiliar with IT hardware + DC environmentsComfortable with shift work (12hrs, 3-on/3-off, including nights)Added advantage if have prior experience in network infra, GPU cloud / HPC exposure
