About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to join an agile, high-velocity engineering squad for a dedicated 2-month project.
Working directly alongside one other developer and a Team Lead, you will take ownership of backend service architecture, cloud infrastructure on AWS, and critical third-party integrations.
This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in low-friction, high-autonomy environments and can deliver production-ready code quickly.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
Backend Architecture: Design, build, and deploy robust, high-performance Java applications and microservices.
Cloud Integration: Leverage core AWS services to manage, scale, and maintain cloud-native backend systems.
Integrations & Payments: Drive complex API integrations, state handling, and data flows for third-party services.
Lean Execution: Collaborate closely in a tight 2-dev pod to maintain fast feedback loops, perform peer code reviews, and ship clean, testable code.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements)
Core Java Expertise: At least 5 years of extensive hands-on experience in Java backend development (Spring Boot / Java EE).
AWS Knowledge: Practical experience building and deploying backend services on AWS (e.g., EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, SQS/SNS).
Database Management: Deep comfort working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL systems.
API & System Design: Strong grasp of RESTful API architecture, asynchronous communication, and secure backend patterns.
Remote-First Mindset: Ability to self-manage, prioritize deliverables, and communicate clearly in an asynchronous environment.
