Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Description Senior DevOps Engineer Type: Permanent Start: ASAP Salary: up to £85k p/annum Location: Central London (limited travel ad hoc) We’re looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing technology team supporting a large-scale eCommerce and digital estate. You’ll take ownership of production and non-production environments, deployment pipelines, monitoring and operational excellence, while working closely with development, IT and third-party partners to deliver secure, resilient and scalable digital services. Key Responsibilities Own and improve CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps and GitHub. Support and optimise production environments, resolving complex incidents and problems. Drive monitoring, observability, performance and reliability improvements. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Pulumi or ARM. Work closely with development teams to ensure applications are designed for live supportability. Implement automation, proactive monitoring and preventative improvements. Support release, change and service transition activities. Promote DevOps, Agile and ITIL best practices across the team. Mentor colleagues and contribute to technical standards and continuous improvement. Ensure solutions meet relevant security, GDPR and PCI DSS requirements. Key Technical Skills Strong Microsoft Azure experience across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, serverless and containers. Strong CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub. Infrastructure as Code – Terraform, Pulumi or ARM. Scripting with PowerShell, Python, YAML and/or TypeScript. Strong understanding of networking, DNS, routing, firewalls and load balancing. Experience with microservices and high-traffic web environments. Monitoring/observability experience with Dynatrace, Catchpoint or similar. Knowledge of CDNs, WAF, OWASP and application security. Experience supporting web/mobile applications, ideally within retail or eCommerce. Understanding of .NET, React/Vue and modern web technologies. Experience with databases and application performance optimisation. Desirable Azure DevOps or Azure Architecture certification. Experience with ITIL / ISO27001. Azure MLOps / operationalising machine-learning models. Experience integrating AI/agent-based solutions into enterprise environments. Experience with Akamai or similar CDN platforms.
