Senior Java Engineer — Hedge Fund | London : £100k+

We are working with a leading hedge fund that is looking to hire an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join its technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly technical, data-driven environment, developing robust and scalable systems that support critical financial and regulatory processes. You will work closely with experienced engineers and business stakeholders to design, develop and enhance high-performance applications and data platforms. Key Responsibilities Design and develop high-quality, scalable applications using Java and SpringBuild and maintain robust, high-throughput backend systemsDevelop event-driven solutions using KafkaWork with real-time data processing technologies, including Apache FlinkDesign and optimise SQL-based data solutionsWork with NoSQL technologies, ideally MongoDBDevelop and enhance systems supporting regulatory reportingContribute to architecture, technical design and engineering best practicesWork closely with other technology and business teams to deliver reliable solutions Essential Skills & Experience Strong commercial experience with JavaExcellent knowledge of Spring / Spring BootStrong SQL skills and experience working with relational databasesHands-on experience with KafkaExperience building distributed or event-driven systemsStrong software engineering fundamentals and knowledge of design principlesExperience working within a complex, high-performance technology environment Desirable Experience Apache FlinkNoSQL databasesMongoDBExperience within financial services, investment management or hedge fundsKnowledge of regulatory reporting and financial dataExperience working with high-volume or real-time data
