Software Engineer (AI & Cyber Security)

Are you a Software Engineer who wants to move beyond experimenting with AI and start building production-grade, AI-powered security systems? We're hiring for an Australian Financial Services organisation building the next generation of internal cyber tooling. 3 vacancies available: 1 Manager + 2 ICs Build the agents, tools and systems that make security teams faster, more efficient and more effective. You'll have genuine ownership across the full lifecycle, from shaping what should be built and how it works, through to implementation and deployment. Think of an AI agent taking a security alert, pulling together the relevant data, cross-referencing threat intelligence and producing a first-pass assessment - so the analyst can focus on making the decision, rather than finding the information. What You'll Do Design, build and operate full-stack web applications and backend services for internal security toolingIntegrate LLMs directly into production productsBuild agentic AI systems capable of autonomous, multi-step actions including retrieval, cross-referencing, drafting and escalationBuild and maintain data pipelines that ingest and process security data, including logs, scan results and alerts, for both human and AI consumptionOwn solutions end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy and support in productionCollaborate closely with security engineers and analysts to understand real workflows and pain pointsParticipate in code reviews, architecture discussions and agile ceremonies within a DevOps-driven team Must-have Strong backend engineering experience with Python, using Flask, FastAPI or equivalentReal, production experience integrating LLMs into applications or productsHands-on experience with agentic AI patterns and tooling, such as LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK or custom tool-calling/orchestration approachesExperience building and owning data pipelinesFull-stack capability, with confidence across backend services and frontend interfacesA track record of owning systems end-to-end, from design through to production support Nice-to-have Familiarity with cyber security concepts, including vulnerabilities, threat data, SOC workflows and security toolingExposure to cloud infrastructure and container orchestration, including AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker or Kubernetes Why This Role?
