This is the job We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join a project for a leading US streaming technology company transforming how people watch television. You will contribute to a highly scalable, highly available, real-time advertising platform that supports a rapidly growing streaming business. Working with an experienced international engineering team, you will design and develop high-performance backend applications operating at scale. This role is an excellent match for an engineer who has a strong command of Java, understands concurrency beyond the framework level, and enjoys solving complex performance and scalability challenges. This is you At least 5 years of professional experience in Java backend developmentHands-on experience building large-scale, low-latency distributed systemsStrong command of Java 11 or newerSolid practical knowledge of Java Concurrency and multithreadingExperience with asynchronous programming in Java, including CompletableFutureGood understanding of algorithms, data structures and performance optimizationStrong knowledge of object-oriented programming and software design principlesBasic understanding of high-load system design and scalability techniquesBasic practical knowledge of KafkaEnglish at B2 level or higher, enabling effective communication in an international teamX Nice-to-have Skills: Experience with distributed cachingExperience working with SQL and NoSQL databasesKnowledge of AWS or other cloud platformsExperience with Big Data technologiesPrevious experience in adtech, streaming, media, fintech or another high-throughput domain This is your role Design, develop and maintain large-scale, highly available, real-time Java applicationsBuild efficient concurrent and asynchronous processing solutionsInvestigate and resolve performance, scalability and reliability challengesWrite clean, maintainable and well-tested production codeContribute to technical decisions, engineering standards and development best practicesCollaborate with engineers, product specialists and analytics teams on strategic initiativesIdentify technical gaps and operational problems and propose robust solutionsCommunicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersTake ownership of delivered solutions throughout the development lifecycle At Avenga, everyone matters.
