Java Engineer

We're working with a large-scale organisation looking for an experienced Java Backend Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Antwerp. You'll work on large-scale platforms that power products across the media and AI landscape, helping to build backend systems that process high volumes of data and deliver strong performance. Responsibilities Develop backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.Build APIs and microservices that support data-intensive platforms.Collaborate with product managers and frontend developers to deliver new features.Optimise application performance and scalability.Write clean and well-tested code following engineering best practices.Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning.Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments. Your Profile Commercial experience developing backend applications with Java.Strong knowledge of the Spring Framework, particularly Spring Boot.Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.Understanding of software design principles, testing, and clean architecture.Experience with Git and modern development workflows.Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.Comfortable communicating in English (Dutch a major plus).
