Senior Java Developer - Electronic Trading Technology We're hiring a Senior Java Developer to join a leading Electronic Trading Technology team within a global investment bank. This role is focused on developing high-performance, low-latency backend applications that support front-office sales and trading teams. Working in a fast-paced front-office environment, you'll partner closely with traders and business stakeholders to design and deliver scalable, business-critical trading solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop and enhance Java-based trading applications and microservicesBuild scalable, resilient, and low-latency backend systemsCollaborate with front-office stakeholders to deliver technology solutionsContribute to system design, architecture, and code reviewsSupport applications throughout the full software development lifecycleDrive engineering best practices and continuous improvement Skills & Experience Around 5+ years' commercial Java development experienceStrong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIsExperience building scalable, distributed backend systemsComfortable working directly with front-office users and stakeholdersStrong understanding of Agile development and software engineering best practicesExposure to Angular, React, or other frontend technologies is beneficial, but the role is predominantly backend-focusedBackground within Electronic Trading, Capital Markets, Equities, FX, or Fixed Income is advantageous Location: Glasgow (Hybrid) Join a high-performing engineering team delivering next-generation trading technology in a collaborative, front-office environment.
