Software Engineer – Applied Mathematics & Algorithms Location: Cisnadie, Romania (IT Competence Center) Employment Type: Full-time, hybrid About the Role We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to take technical ownership of a business-critical application for the calculation of complex master key systems. You will combine software development, applied mathematics and algorithm design to maintain and evolve the solution. A strategic focus is the automation of complex calculation processes by transforming expert knowledge into mathematical models and computational algorithms through close collaboration with experienced specialists. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining software development with applied mathematics and algorithmic problem solving to solve highly complex engineering challenges. The long-term objective is to evolve a rule-based calculation system into an intelligent and highly automated calculation solution by developing advanced mathematical models and computational algorithms. As the solution evolves, modern computational approaches, including neural network-based methods where appropriate, may become part of future calculation concepts. Your Responsibilities Develop and enhance a business-critical application currently based on Delphi (Object Pascal).Design and implement advanced calculation algorithms based on applied mathematics and optimization methods.Drive the automation of complex calculation processes by translating expert knowledge into software.Evaluate advanced computational methods, including neural network-based approaches where appropriate.Continuously improve software quality, performance and maintainability.Your Profile Mandatory Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or a related discipline.Strong professional software development experience and solid object-oriented programming skills.Strong expertise in applied mathematics, algorithm design and computational problem solving.Excellent written and spoken English for effective collaboration and knowledge transfer in an international environment.Analytical, proactive and ownership-driven mindset.Willingness to travel to Germany on a regular basis, particularly for knowledge transfer and collaboration with domain experts.Preferred Experience with Delphi (Object Pascal) or willingness to learn it.Experience with optimization methods, numerical algorithms or neural network-based approaches.Experience developing complex calculation or business-critical software.German language skills are an advantage.
