Kotlin Multiplatform Engineer

For the past 17 years, AdGuard has been building and continuously improving a comprehensive suite of products that protect users from online advertising, tracking, phishing, and other web threats. Our ecosystem includes browser extensions, desktop applications, and mobile apps. Today, more than 100 million people worldwide use our software, available in over 20 languages. We are currently looking for an experienced Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) Mobile Developer to help evolve our cross-platform architecture at the intersection of complex background processing and user interface development. What you`ll do: Develop shared business logic using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).Design the architecture and implement a shared UI layer using custom KMP-based solutions.Build platform abstractions that enable efficient management of the main thread and background threads.Implement interoperability between KMP and native platform components.Design and develop reliable inter-process communication (IPC) mechanisms between applications and services. What we are looking for: 2+ years of commercial experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP). You understand the lifecycle of multiplatform applications, are familiar with the technology's limitations, and have successfully shipped KMP-based products to production.Strong understanding of IPC mechanisms and how applications operate across multiple isolated processes, with the ability to design effective communication between them.Deep knowledge of multithreading, including hands-on experience managing thread pools and optimizing asynchronous code.Strong native mobile development background (Android and/or iOS) with 5+ years of commercial experience.Solid understanding of low-level platform internals and platform-specific behavior.Strong engineering mindset with the ability to dive into framework source code, profile memory usage, and optimize the performance of cross-platform applications. Nice to have: Hands-on experience with Kotlin Coroutines.Experience in native mobile development in related areas.Knowledge of additional programming languages.
