About Speed-Deed
Most Irish residential property sales encounter the same problem: the seller is not ready.
The average sale takes around five months to close, with much of the legal preparation only beginning after a buyer has been found.
Speed-Deed changes that.
We help estate agents turn the new Schedule III document requirements into a practical outcome.
Sellers gather the key documents and information before a buyer is found, giving their solicitor a structured file and a head start on drafting from day one.
Contract-ready before sale agreed.
The product is live, with real sellers using it through pilots with estate agents and solicitors across Ireland.
Our immediate focus is proving that Speed-Deed can become a standard part of the Irish property sale process.
The Role
You will join Speed-Deed at an early stage and play a central role in expanding our engineering capability as the company grows.
You will take day-to-day engineering ownership of the live product, with support on the existing architecture, onboarding and major technical decisions.
You will improve what is already live and build new features for sellers, estate agents and solicitors.
Ship in the morning, watch a real seller use it that afternoon.
Join now and you will have a genuine influence over the product, the platform and the engineering team we build from here.
The product is live and the customers are real.
If Speed-Deed succeeds, you will not have joined an established engineering organisation.
You will have helped create it.
What you'll own
· The live platform: Take day-to-day responsibility for improving, maintaining and scaling an existing production product.
· The customer journey: Use feedback from real sellers, estate agents and solicitors to identify problems and ship practical improvements.
· The document engine: Improve how property information and documents are collected, checked and turned into a structured pre-sale file.
· New features: Take customer problems from initial discussion through technical design, testing, release and monitoring.
· Production, security and reliability: Help keep the platform secure, dependable and cost-effective as usage and sensitive customer data grow.
· Our first international product: As we prove the model in Ireland, help adapt the platform for another country with different workflows, document requirements and integrations.
What we’re looking for
You will probably have at least two years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful ownership of production features in a fast-moving product environment.
We still care more about what you have built and owned than the exact number of years.
· Strong TypeScript fundamentals and full-stack experience with React and Node, owning features from the interface through the API to the database.
· Experience designing and evolving a relational schema in production.
We run Postgres, and you should be confident writing non-trivial SQL and planning migrations that run against live customer data.
· You have deployed and operated your own code, not just merged it: CI, containerised services, environment configuration, secrets, logs and a rollback path when a release goes wrong.
· An eye for performance and cost as data grows: query plans, indexing, and moving long-running work off the request path.
· A practical approach to testing.
Unit coverage on business logic, end-to-end coverage on the paths that cannot break.
· Sound judgement on security and data protection: authentication, authorisation, and handling personal and financial data under GDPR.
· Product sense.
You can take an unclear customer problem, talk to the people who have it, and ship something that solves it.
· Useful, not required: Google Cloud, LLMs in production, document processing, or another regulated domain such as property, legal or fintech.
What we offer
· A competitive salary, depending on experience.
· Genuine ownership of a live product and the opportunity to help shape the engineering team as Speed-Deed grows.
· Direct access to customers, with short feedback loops between what you build and how it performs in the real world.
· Full-time, on-site working from our Dublin 2 office.
