Join IMBA as a Linux & OpenShift Application Engineer to support the deployment, operation, and further development of applications and services on its Linux and OpenShift environments.
The role works close to the workload and service layer, helping internal projects and service owners run their applications reliably, in both containerized and non-containerized setups.
The position combines hands-on Linux administration with day-to-day application and service operations in a practical, project-facing environment.
ResponsibilitiesOperate and support workloads running on the OpenShift / OCP environmentHelp project teams and service owners onboard their applications onto the platformAdminister Linux-based applications and services, both containerized and non-containerizedSupport common infrastructure services such as web servers, databases, middleware, and scientific applicationsTroubleshoot service- and application-level issues across Linux and container runtimesHandle application deployment, configuration, updates, and lifecycle managementTurn project and service requirements into workable, maintainable operating setupsWork with the platform infrastructure team on standards, constraints, and improvements
Your profile
Required:Strong Linux administration backgroundExperience operating Linux applications and servicesExperience with containers and application deployment on Kubernetes or OpenShiftSolid troubleshooting skills in application and service operationsPractical experience with web servers, databases, middleware, or scientific softwareService-oriented mindset, comfortable working directly with internal users and project teamsStructured, pragmatic approach to operations and support
Preferred:Experience adapting or packaging applications for OpenShiftScripting or automation experience for service operationsFamiliarity with research IT or scientific application environmentsExperience with CI/CD from the application delivery side
