Back-End Java & Cloud Engineer

Nexeo is currently looking for a Medior Back-End Java & Cloud Engineer to join one of Belgium’s leading energy companies. You will join a multidisciplinary IT team responsible for developing and enhancing digital solutions for B2B customers, as well as supporting internal Sales and Customer Operations teams. You will work closely with SAP and Pricing IT teams to deliver reliable, scalable and innovative solutions. Your Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain back-end applications using Java and Spring Boot.Develop and maintain REST APIs and microservices.Contribute to the development of cloud-based solutions and scalable architectures.Analyse technical and functional requirements and translate them into robust software solutions.Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing, deployment and maintenance.Integrate applications with SAP and other enterprise systems.Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, architects, front-end developers and business stakeholders.Work closely with Sales and Customer Operations teams to deliver business-oriented solutions.Perform troubleshooting, debugging and performance optimization.Write clean, reusable and maintainable code following development best practices.Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.Contribute to automated testing and software quality.Support CI/CD and DevOps practices.Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.Your Profile Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.3–5 years of experience in back-end software development.Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.Good knowledge of REST APIs, Microservices and SQL.Experience with Cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS or GCP.Good understanding of Git, CI/CD and DevOps practices.Experience with enterprise application integration.Knowledge of SAP is a strong plus.Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Technical Skills Mandatory JavaSpring BootREST APIsMicroservicesSQLGitCloud technologiesAgile/ScrumNice to Have SAPAzure / AWS / GCPDockerCI/CDKubernetesAutomated testingDevOpsLanguages English: Strong written and spoken communication skills.French: A plus.Dutch: A plus.Soft Skills We are looking for someone who is: Analytical and solution-oriented.Structured and autonomous.Strong in problem-solving.Quality-oriented and detail-focused.Comfortable working with both technical and business stakeholders.Proactive and eager to learn.Team-oriented and comfortable working in an Agile environment.Interested in Cloud technologies, software architecture and digital solutions. 📩 Interested in this opportunity?
