Lead Engineer

About the Role Our client is looking for a Lead Engineer to drive the architecture, technical direction, and delivery of its backend platform. This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining backend engineering with architectural ownership, mentoring, and cross-functional delivery. You'll play a key role in building scalable infrastructure that supports high-growth Web3 products and experiences. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of scalable, high-availability backend systems.Own technical architecture and drive engineering best practices across backend development.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across Backend, QA, and DevOps.Review architecture decisions, code quality, system design, and deployment strategies.Coordinate delivery across multiple engineering projects and workstreams.Drive best practices across TypeScript, NestJS, AWS, and PostgreSQL.Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, performance, and developer productivity. Requirements 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.Strong hands-on expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS.Proven experience designing and building distributed, highly available systems.Strong experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and/or Aurora.Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead complex technical initiatives.Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and engineering best practices.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Nice to Have Experience leading remote or distributed engineering teams.Background in Web3, blockchain, digital assets, gaming, or consumer technology.Experience building products involving wallets, identity, on-chain data, rewards, or blockchain integrations.Familiarity with Terraform and infrastructure automation.Experience working in a high-growth startup environment.
