Full Stack Developer (12 Months)

Teach for Thailand is a nonprofit organization committed to more equitable and just education opportunities for children in Thailand. We want to better Thai education, one classroom at a time. And we do this by partnering with communities to develop a network of leaders through our Fellowship Program. What We Do: We develop leaders to improve educational opportunities for children in Thailand through our 2-year Fellowship Program. In the Fellowship Program, we recruit, develop, and place people from all backgrounds to teach in underserved schools for two years. During this time, Fellows learn through firsthand experience and grow their leadership skills by collaborating with stakeholders in schools and communities. After their experience, graduates of the Program are empowered to drive positive changes in Thai education and beyond. Whether they carry on as teachers, become policymakers, start their own social enterprises, or work in the public or private sector, they are able to effect change in different ways. The Role: Software Developer (Full-Stack) - 12-month employment contract Teach for Thailand is looking for a Software Developer (Full-Stack) to join our small but high-impact technology function. You'll work alongside our Data and Impact Manager, who currently serves as the organization's sole dedicated technical resource across data engineering, IT infrastructure, and systems architecture — but you should expect to figure out a lot on your own. This is a hands-on role covering the full lifecycle of our internal digital tools, from building and maintaining web applications to owning the data pipelines that power our impact reporting. This is a great fit for someone who wants to be thrown into the deep end: broad ownership across the stack, ambiguous problems with no playbook, and the independence to go find the answer rather than wait for one. If you're the kind of person who treats a lack of guidance as room to grow rather than a gap to complain about, and you're aiming to become a technical lead somewhere in the next few years — this role is built to get you there fast. Outcomes for the role include, but are not limited to: Deliver and continuously improve web applications that enhance the recruitment experience and operational efficiency for both internal users and external candidates.Design, develop, and implement a CRM platform that enables Teach for Thailand teams to manage functions more effectively and improves the quality, efficiency, and consistency of organizational processes.By the end of the employment period, establish scalable digital systems that strengthen Teach for Thailand's operational effectiveness and service delivery. Such systems may include, but are not limited to, the CRM platform, Alumni Portal, and other technology solutions that support the organization's strategic priorities. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Web Application Development & Maintenance Build and maintain the Fellowship Portal (a custom Fellow-facing platform) alongside a small number of other TFT-facing sites, ensuring data and user state stay in sync across them.Design and implement the sync/integration layer between these applications (shared APIs, webhooks, or a common data layer, as appropriate).Fix bugs, ship features, and keep existing systems stable and performant.Write clean, documented code that a small team can maintain long-term.CRM (Odoo) Configuration & Backend Data Configure Odoo Community modules for specific teams' workflows (rather than custom development), including user/team setup, views, automations, and access rules.Build and maintain the backend data structures in Odoo needed to support reporting and downstream syncs.Build integrations when Odoo's UI can't do the job by writing code that talks to Odoo's API directly (Odoo uses RPC-style APIs rather than REST, so you'll pick up that pattern on the job).Analytics Engineering & Data Pipelines Build and maintain data pipelines into BigQuery (e.g., via Airbyte) and transformation workflows in Dataform.Extend the pipeline stack to additional GCP tools as needed (e.g., Cloud Composer/Scheduler for orchestration, Cloud Functions for custom extraction).Support data quality checks and documentation for pipelines and models.DevOps & Security Support day-to-day maintenance of GCP infrastructure (Cloud SQL, Cloud Run/Compute, storage, backups, IAM).Help implement and maintain security basics: access controls, credential hygiene, backup/PITR schedules.Help document systems, changes, and processes to reduce single-point-of-failure risk on a lean technical team.
