Description

The role: We’re modernising the systems that power Inside Travel Group, evolving Axum – the platform at the heart of how we sell, book, manage and deliver travel experiences across our global business – and building the foundations for the next stage of our growth. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be a key member of a small, high-impact engineering team responsible for delivering business-critical software. You'll help shape technical approaches, build high-quality solutions, and work closely with stakeholders across the business to solve real-world problems. This is a hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to influence architecture, improve engineering practices, and contribute to major initiatives such as the ongoing evolution of our core operational systems and data platforms. You'll have the freedom to make pragmatic decisions, own significant pieces of work, and see the direct impact of what you build. Key responsibilities: Design, build and maintain high-quality software applications and servicesLead the technical delivery of complex features and projectsHelp modernise and evolve our core platforms and architectureCollaborate with Product, Operations, Sales, Finance and other business teams to deliver valuable solutionsSupport and contribute to engineering standards, code quality and development practicesParticipate in code reviews, technical design discussions and architectural decisionsMentor and support other developers, helping raise capability across the teamImprove automation, testing, deployment and operational processesIdentify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve maintainabilityContribute to a culture of continuous improvement, learning and delivery excellence What we are looking for from you: You don't need to tick every box - we're more interested in how you approach problems, collaborate with others and deliver value. We're looking for someone who: Has significant experience building and delivering commercial software applicationsIs highly proficient in C# and the .NET ecosystemHas experience designing and developing web applications, APIs and servicesUnderstands software architecture, design patterns and engineering trade-offsHas experience working with relational databases and writing efficient SQLUnderstands automated testing, CI/CD and modern development practicesCan balance technical quality with pragmatic business needsCommunicates clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences And importantly: You enjoy solving real business problemsYou're pragmatic and outcome-focusedYou take ownership and accountability for deliveryYou care about maintainability, reliability and long-term qualityYou're comfortable working in a small team where everyone contributesYou enjoy mentoring others and helping raise engineering standardsYou challenge assumptions and continuously look for better ways of working You don’t need to meet every requirement.
