Role Description The Security Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network and system infrastructures that support QAT’s automation and smart technology solutions.
This on-site role, based in Qatar, includes configuring security tools and platforms, monitoring infrastructure for vulnerabilities or incidents, and ensuring compliance with relevant security standards and policies.
The engineer will collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to integrate security controls into new and existing solutions, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and optimize performance and resilience.
Daily activities involve documentation of architectures and configurations, participation in security reviews and audits, and continuous improvement of security practices and procedures.
Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in network and infrastructure security (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, network segmentation).Experience with secure system administration (e.g., Linux/Windows server hardening, identity and access management, patch management).Knowledge of security monitoring and incident response (e.g., SIEM tools, log analysis, threat detection, incident handling).Understanding of security architecture and design (e.g., secure solution design, risk assessment, security best practices).Familiarity with relevant security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, industry-specific regulations).Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and documentation skills.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, CEH) are an advantage.Experience in security infrastructure roles within automation, smart technology, or large enterprise environments in the Middle East is beneficial.
