This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in Canada. This is an opportunity to join a remote-first engineering team building a category-defining vertical SaaS platform for the promotional products industry. You will work within the Connected Supplier domain, developing integrations and workflows that streamline purchasing, supplier collaboration, and invoicing. The role offers meaningful ownership, with responsibility for scoping, designing, implementing, and supporting production features. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering while translating customer needs and business goals into practical technical solutions. The environment emphasizes autonomy, thoughtful engineering, continuous improvement, and high-quality software delivery. You’ll also contribute to system design, technical decision-making, mentoring, documentation, and shared engineering practices. Accountabilities Own feature delivery: Independently scope, plan, implement, and deliver well-defined features and components within the Connected Supplier domain.Contribute to system architecture: Participate in system design discussions, considering performance, scalability, maintainability, reliability, and long-term technical sustainability.Translate requirements into solutions: Partner with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to break initiatives into clear milestones, modules, timelines, and deliverables.Build high-quality software: Develop clean, maintainable, well-tested code while following strong engineering practices and contributing to a high technical bar across the team.Own engineering outcomes: Take responsibility for domain-level projects and co-own larger cross-functional initiatives alongside Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.Manage technical risk: Identify architectural, implementation, and operational risks early and recommend practical mitigation strategies.Improve systems and processes: Proactively identify inefficiencies in technology, workflows, and development practices and implement improvements that make the team more effective.Connect technology to customer needs: Translate business objectives, customer feedback, and operational requirements into thoughtful and scalable technical implementations.Support reliable delivery: Communicate proactively about project status, risks, dependencies, and blockers across relevant teams and stakeholders.Mentor engineers: Provide constructive feedback, participate in pairing and code reviews, and support the professional growth of fellow engineers.Contribute to engineering operations: Participate in documentation, technical debt management, code reviews, CI/CD practices, observability, and on-call responsibilities. Requirements Professional experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably within a SaaS or product-focused technology environment.Software engineering fundamentals: Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, relational databases, API development, and scalable application architecture.Technical proficiency: Hands-on experience with technologies such as React, PHP, Python, or modern programming frameworks, together with experience using a major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.Modern development practices: Experience with agile development, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and observability platforms such as Datadog.End-to-end ownership: Demonstrated ability to independently deliver complex features while balancing technical quality, customer value, delivery timelines, and practical trade-offs.Problem-solving: Strong analytical and technical problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across Product, Design, Engineering, and other functions while communicating technical concepts clearly.Leadership and mentoring: Experience supporting and mentoring other engineers and contributing to a collaborative, inclusive engineering culture.Remote work: Comfortable working independently and asynchronously while maintaining strong communication, collaboration, and team connection.AI awareness: Experience with, or genuine interest in, using AI technologies in software development or product engineering.Industry knowledge: Familiarity with promotional products, supply-chain workflows, or e-commerce integrations is a plus.Work authorization: Eligible to work in Canada, excluding Quebec.
