Position Summary
The Senior Principal Engineer, DevOps plays an integral role in implementing and executing cloud practices for build management, product release and operation processes.
The role is responsible for managing and automating the build and deployment process and regression testing, building tools and monitoring used in product implementations.
The Senior Principal Engineer, DevOps will help in defining, maintaining procedures and tools that are used to deliver releases in a repeatable and scalable manner.
This role is a pivotal and highly strategic centered on our highest-risk and operational impactful undertakings.
Essential Responsibilities
Provides meaningful impacts to revenue and customer experience through the technical development of the staff and our systems architectureProvides immense thought leadership and collaboration into the broader JetBlue organization through empirical analysisOffer thought leadership to the broader industry through their successful implementations and design effortsDefine problems autonomously and proactively own complex features and distributed designsEstablish and run the processes for on-going maintenance while monitoring support and security patching of a platform Automate, support, and ensure Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Delivery (CD) in product developmentCollaborate and mentor junior engineers with regards to software release best practicesPerform code reviews to ensure high quality and consistent coding practices, operations and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless deployments, proper documentation, and support for applications Ensure that JetBlue IT and business standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with Company policies and all audit, security, and regulatory requirements Work with internal and external Engineering/Security/Operations teams to ensure that the defined standards are met and used throughout all departments Be part of the on-call team to help resolve issues with the customer facing and support applicationsTake a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience And Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experienceSix (6) years of previous experience working with infrastructure and/or development teams to build enterprise-scale application integration solutionsSix (6) years of experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processExperience architecting and supporting highly available and highly scalable cloud infrastructure like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform or Amazon AWSAbility to grasp technical concepts quickly and apply that knowledge to DevOps efforts within the team Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and PythonExperience with Container orchestration like Kubernetes, Docker, Vulnerabilities and Patch managementProficient in Cloud based software development/management tools (Ansible/Salt Stack, Ruby, Jenkins Pipelines, GitHub, Ubuntu/Centos/RHEL, Terraform, Artifactory or similar) Familiarity with monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Sumo Logic or similarKnowledge of Release Management Processes including Canary Deployments and Blue/GreenAvailable for overnight travel (10%) Able to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short noticeMust pass a pre-employment drug testMust be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locatedAuthorization to work in the US is required.

Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is between $134,600 and $210,100 per year.
