We are looking for a capable Full Stack Software Engineer to help build and ship features across our customer-facing applications and APIs that manage our IoT fleet and deliver real-time energy insights to our customers. You will own features end-to-end across NestJS backends and Vue.js frontends: clarifying requirements, making sound implementation decisions within the team's architecture, writing well-tested code, and seeing work through to release. You will work closely with more senior engineers for direction on larger design choices, while operating with a high degree of independence on the features you own. Key responsibilities include: Design, develop, test and maintain back-end services, APIs and Vue.js frontend features end-to-end, from clarified requirements through to production-ready releases.Own the delivery of features: estimate your work, communicate progress and dependencies, surface trade-offs early, and follow through to release.Make sound technical implementation decisions within the team's architecture; escalate larger design or cross-cutting questions with a clear recommendation.Write automated unit and relevant integration/UI tests while upholding the team's coding, security and maintainability standards in everything you ship.Participate actively in design discussions and code reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback that raises the quality of what we ship.Proactively identify bugs, reliability gaps or improvements in the areas you work on and propose practical fixes.Use AI developer tooling productively within team workflows and quality/security guardrails, treating AI output with the same review and testing bar as hand-written code.Collaborate across disciplines firmware, electronics, product and commercial as needed to deliver the features you own.Participate in the team's shared on-call roster, rotated across the team, with clear runbooks and backup support available when you are on call. Experience: Professional software engineering experience, with meaningful full stack delivery (or strong depth on one side of the stack and proven ability to work across both).Experience delivering features in Node.js / NestJS and Vue.js (or closely equivalent frameworks).Experience with RESTful APIs.Experience with SQL databases, including schema design for features you own.Experience with automated testing using tools such as Jest and Cypress.Comfortable estimating your own work, managing delivery of features independently, and communicating progress clearly.Melbourne based.
