We are partnering with an enterprise client to deliver critical infrastructure automation and systems management.
We are seeking a skilled Puppet / DevOps Infrastructure Engineer to represent our organisation and take technical ownership of our client’s automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and system architecture.
In this role, you will bridge traditional systems administration and modern cloud-native engineering within our client’s environment.
You will be instrumental in scaling and maintaining their infrastructure using Puppet as the core configuration management tool, ensuring their systems remain secure, reliable, high-performing, and fully automated.

Core ResponsibilitiesConfiguration Management: Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Puppet modules and manifests to manage system states and application configurations across our client’s infrastructure.Infrastructure Automation: Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines using Puppet alongside tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation within client environments.Systems Administration: Manage Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and/or Windows environments, ensuring high availability, security patching, and optimal performance for the client.CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Integrate Puppet workflows into modern CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for continuous delivery and automated compliance.Environment Standardization: Enforce architectural standards, security hardening guidelines, and drift management across the client’s development, staging, and production environments.Troubleshooting & Incident Response: Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, configuration, and network performance issues across hybrid-cloud environments.Client Engagement & Collaboration: Work closely with the client's internal engineering leads, reporting on project progress and aligning infrastructure strategy with business goals.
Selection CriteriaPuppet Expertise: Strong, hands-on professional experience with Puppet (Puppet Enterprise / Open Source), including custom module development, Hiera data structures, and continuous testing (RSpec-Puppet, Litmus).Systems Mastery: Deep expertise in Linux systems administration (RHEL, Ubuntu) including shell scripting (Bash, Python, or Ruby).Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Solid understanding of IaC concepts and experience working with supplementary tools like Terraform.Cloud Architecture: Practical experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or hybrid enterprise data centers.Version Control & CI/CD: Advanced proficiency with Git and experience automating deployments through CI/CD tools.Location Requirements: Currently residing in Australia with valid work rights or eligibility for a 482 visa sponsorship transfer.
