Senior Python Backend Engineer Salary: Up to £90,000 Location: Predominantly remote with occasional Canary Wharf visits Start: September onwards We are recruiting a Senior Python Backend Engineer for a major programme within a global financial-services organisation. You will build Python applications, REST APIs, system integrations and automation solutions connecting an enterprise ServiceNow platform with a range of internal applications. This is not a traditional ServiceNow Developer position. We are looking for a strong Python back-end engineer with experience building enterprise APIs, integrations and reliable production systems. Previous ServiceNow experience would be advantageous but is not essential. What you’ll be doing Building maintainable Python applications, services and REST APIsDeveloping integrations between enterprise platforms and internal systemsAutomating operational processes and reducing manual workDesigning scalable solutions across distributed systemsWriting automated tests and contributing to CI/CD pipelinesTroubleshooting and supporting applications in productionWorking with architects, product owners and business stakeholdersProviding technical leadership and mentoring other developers What we’re looking for At least five years’ commercial Python development experienceStrong back-end software engineering experienceREST API and enterprise integration developmentObject-oriented programming and software design principlesGit, automated testing, CI/CD and DevOps practicesLinux development experienceExperience delivering production software in a large enterprise environmentStrong communication and stakeholder-management skills Desirable experience ServiceNow integrations or ITSM platformsChange Management processesJava developmentBanking, financial services or another regulated industryEvent-driven architecture and workflow automationAI-assisted development tools Why apply?
