Software Engineer (Java Backend)

We are seeking a Java Backend Developer in Singapore. You will build microservices and event-driven services with Kafka, deploy to Microsoft Azure and design reliable PostgreSQL data models. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ship secure, scalable APIs, improve performance and keep production stable through strong engineering practices. Responsibilities Design and build back-end services in Java using microservices patterns Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service integrations Implement event streaming and messaging using Apache Kafka Build, deploy and tune cloud-native workloads on Microsoft Azure Design PostgreSQL schemas, queries and performance optimizations Participate in code reviews, automated testing and release activities Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause fixes Create and maintain technical documentation for services and APIs Requirements Java back-end development experience and clean coding practices Microservices architecture knowledge including service-to-service communication RESTful APIs design experience including versioning and reliability considerations Microsoft Azure experience deploying and operating applications Apache Kafka experience for messaging, streaming or event-driven design PostgreSQL skills in schema design, query writing and tuning Problem-solving ability in development and production environments Clear communication and teamwork across engineering and product partners Nice to have Spring Boot and Spring framework experience Containerization and orchestration exposure (for example Kubernetes) Observability tooling experience (logging, metrics, tracing) We offer By choosing EPAM, you're getting a job at one of the most loved workplaces according to Newsweek 2021 & 2022&2023.Employee ideas are the main driver of our business.
