Senior Solution Engineer - Dutch Speaker Location Hoofddorp, NetherlandsEmployment Type Full-time, PermanentWorking Pattern Onsite preferredHybrid can be considered for strong candidatesMinimum one day per week in the office is requiredAbout the Role We are looking for a Senior Solution Engineer to support warehouse automation and intralogistics projects across Europe. This is a customer-facing pre-sales and solution design role. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Project Delivery, Engineering and R&D teams to understand customer requirements, assess warehouse processes, design automation solutions, prepare technical proposals and support project execution after contract award. The role is ideal for someone with strong experience in warehouse automation, AGV/AMR, intralogistics or material handling solutions, who can confidently communicate with Dutch-speaking customers and independently create warehouse layouts using AutoCAD. Key Responsibilities Lead pre-sales activities for warehouse automation projects across EuropeConduct customer requirement analysis, site surveys, data analysis and business process assessmentsDevelop technical automation solutions based on customer needs, warehouse processes, operational data and project requirementsIndependently create and modify warehouse layouts using AutoCADPrepare and present solution proposals, technical concepts, layout plans and solution comparisons to customers and internal stakeholdersSupport tender and bidding activities, including technical proposals, bid documentation and technical clarification materialsReview customer specifications and provide technical input during the sales and bidding processGather and analyse customer requirements and feedbackWork with internal teams to improve products, solutions and project delivery qualitySupport detailed engineering activities after project awardProvide technical support during commissioning, testing and project acceptanceAct as the key technical interface between customers, Sales, Project Delivery, Engineering, R&D and other internal stakeholdersRequirements Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, preferably in Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics or a related disciplineMinimum 7 years of experience in warehouse automation, intralogistics, AGV, AMR, material handling or logistics automationStrong pre-sales, solution design or technical consultancy experience within automation or intralogistics projectsProven ability to analyse customer needs and design competitive automation solutionsExperience providing technical guidance during the sales cycleHands-on experience independently creating warehouse layouts using AutoCAD is requiredStrong understanding of warehouse processes, material flow, logistics operations and automation conceptsExperience with medium to large-scale automation projects, ideally ranging from several hundred thousand euros to over one million eurosExperience supporting tenders, technical proposals, bidding activities or customer-facing solution presentationsFluent Dutch and English communication skills are requiredNative Dutch speakers are strongly preferredStrong communication, presentation, problem-solving and stakeholder management skillsNice to Have Experience with WMS, WCS or warehouse process optimisationExperience with simulation software such as FlexSimExperience with AGV/AMR fleet management, robotics, conveyor systems, AS/RS, sortation systems or large-scale system integration projectsAdditional European languages would be an advantageIdeal Candidate Background The ideal candidate may currently be working as one of the following: Solution EngineerSolution Design EngineerPre-sales EngineerSales EngineerApplication EngineerIntralogistics ConsultantWarehouse Automation EngineerLogistics Automation Solution ConsultantRelevant industry backgrounds include: Warehouse automationAGV / AMRIntralogisticsMaterial handlingLogistics automationAutomation system integration
