Description

Application Developer Location: Houston, TX | Type: Full Time | Setup: Onsite (4 days/week) | Experience: 5+ years About the Role We're hiring an Application Developer to design, build, and support the software that keeps a real estate business running day to day. You'll write code, test it, and stand up integrations across the corporate application landscape: finance, HR, asset management, leasing, legal, and construction and design all depend on the systems this team owns. The company is an established real estate investment, development, and management firm that takes a long view on the communities it builds in. Technology here is not a back office afterthought. Reporting to the VP of Data and Applications, you'll be a core member of a small application development team with a real mandate, and your first major project is a big one: implementing a new Content Services Platform that brings workflow automation, modern document management, and robotic process automation to the whole company. If you like owning something end to end rather than being handed a narrow slice of a giant codebase, this is that kind of role. The surface area is wide, the stakeholders are close, and the work you ship gets used. What You'll Do Build, test, and support the new workflow platform that powers workflow automation, document management, and RPA across the businessImplement, enhance, and maintain the full set of corporate applications (custom, SaaS, and COTS) along with their integrations and customizationsPartner with the Data and Digital Services team on upstream and downstream integrations with the enterprise data platform and digital experience platformDesign reusable API services in Python or JavaScript for a shared services library other teams can build onWrite SQL and keep the RDBMS databases behind these applications healthy during production supportSupport AI and ML based prediction work as stakeholders across the business bring new use cases forwardWork directly with business users in each department to understand what they actually need before you build it Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (an advanced degree is a plus)5+ years building web-based applications with NodeJS, ReactJS, Python, a BPMN workflow engine such as Camunda, and RPA tooling such as UiPath, ideally inside midsize, complex organizationsHands-on experience with Azure application services, including Azure Functions, App Service, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)Solid RDBMS background (SQL Server or Oracle) running on Azure or AWS, plus comfort writing and tuning SQL against production databasesExperience with content services platforms that deliver workflow automation, document management, and RPABreadth across the modern Microsoft stack (Power BI, Power Automate, O365, Teams, SharePoint) and general fluency with Python, HTML5, Azure, AWS, and mobile platformsWorking knowledge of REST-based microservices, APIs, cloud PaaS, and analytics and data platformsComfortable with Agile and standard SDLC practices, and able to build strong working relationships with both technical peers and business stakeholdersExperience in real estate or property management is a nice bonus, not a requirement Why Join Us You'll sit on a tight application development team where your work is visible and the problems are real, spanning nearly every corporate function rather than one narrow product. The Content Services Platform rollout gives you a chance to lead something meaningful early, with the backing of a leadership team that treats technology as central to how the business runs. This is a place for a developer who wants range, ownership, and the satisfaction of seeing the tools they build get used across the company every day.
