Senior Application Software Engineer

Our client is a well-established New Zealand manufacturer investing heavily in digital transformation and modernising its internal business systems. They're looking for a Senior Application Software Engineer who enjoys solving business problems through a combination of modern software engineering, Azure technologies and Microsoft Power Platform. This isn't a pure Software Engineer role, and it isn't a pure Power Platform role either. We're looking for someone who can confidently work across both, knowing when a bespoke application is the right solution and when low-code tools will deliver the best outcome. About The Role Reporting to the Application & Data Architect, you'll play a key role in designing, developing and supporting business-critical applications used across the organisation. You'll work closely with stakeholders ranging from senior leadership through to operational teams, delivering new applications, system integrations and workflow automation that genuinely improve the way the business operates. Projects Include Developing and enhancing internal web applicationsBuilding REST API integrations between enterprise systemsSupporting Azure-hosted applications and servicesDeveloping workflow automation using Microsoft technologiesMaintaining and improving production applicationsWorking across ERP, CRM, Dynamics 365 and other business systemsSupporting ongoing digital transformation initiatives What You'll Bring We're looking for someone with strong commercial experience across most of the following: Node.js, React and TypeScriptSQL and REST API developmentAzure application servicesSystems integrationProduction application supportCI/CD and modern development practices Experience with any of the following would be highly regarded: Power Platform (Power Apps / Power Automate)Dynamics 365GraphQLSharePointAzure AI servicesManufacturing environments About You You'll enjoy working closely with the business, gathering requirements and turning ideas into practical technical solutions.
