Cloud Architecture and Engineering Design, implement, and support highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient solutions across AWS and Microsoft Azure. Serve as the technical authority for cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, automation, and DevOps practices. Develop cloud reference architecture, engineering standards, deployment patterns, and technical documentation. Evaluate existing cloud environments and recommend improvements related to performance, security, reliability, scalability, and cost. Support cloud migrations, application modernization initiatives, and hybrid or multi-cloud environments. Design solutions that incorporate appropriate disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and high-availability capabilities. Provide technical guidance on cloud-native services and recommend the appropriate platform based on business and application requirements. DevOps and CI/CD Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for application, infrastructure, and platform deployments. Establish standardized processes for code integration, testing, security scanning, release management, and production deployment. Support CI/CD platforms and tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, and AWS CodeDeploy. Automate repetitive engineering and operational processes to improve delivery speed, consistency, and reliability. Implement deployment strategies such as blue-green deployments, canary releases, rolling deployments, and automated rollback. Partner with development teams to improve software delivery practices and reduce deployment-related risk. Infrastructure as Code and Automation Design, develop, and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code modules using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, and ARM templates. Implement configuration management and automation using tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and Bash. Use source control, testing, peer review, versioning, and documentation standards for infrastructure code. Develop reusable automation frameworks that support consistent provisioning across development, testing, staging, and production environments. Identify opportunities to reduce manual administration and improve operational efficiency through automation. Containers and Platform Engineering Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.—Support container orchestration platforms such as Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, Azure Kubernetes Service, Amazon Elastic Container Service, and related cloud-native services. Develop and maintain Kubernetes configurations, Helm charts, deployment templates, and operational standards.-Implement container security, image scanning, secrets management, network policies, and access controls. Support platform engineering initiatives that provide development teams with standardized, self-service deployment capabilities. Cloud Security and Governance Implement cloud security controls aligned with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Apply identity and access management principles, including least-privilege access, role-based access control, multifactor authentication, privileged access management, and workload identity. Configure and support AWS Identity and Access Management, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure role-based access control, service principals, managed identities, and related identity services. Implement secure secrets and certificate management using services such as AWS Secrets Manager, AWS Key Management Service, Azure Key Vault, and certificate management platforms. Integrate security testing into CI/CD pipelines, including static analysis, dependency scanning, container scanning, infrastructure scanning, and policy validation. Support cloud governance practices related to account and subscription management, resource tagging, policy enforcement, logging, encryption, network segmentation, and compliance reporting. Participate in cloud security reviews, risk assessments, audits, vulnerability remediation, and incident response activities. Monitoring, Reliability, and Operations Develop comprehensive monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities for cloud infrastructure and applications. Support tools and services such as Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and other enterprise monitoring platforms. Define service-level indicators, service-level objectives, operational dashboards, and alerting standards. Troubleshoot complex issues involving cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, application performance, automation, and deployment pipelines. Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action efforts following service disruptions or failed deployments. Improve system reliability through automated recovery, proactive monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and operational testing. Participate in an on-call rotation and provide escalation support for critical cloud services when required. Cloud Networking Design and support secure cloud networking solutions, including virtual private clouds, virtual networks, subnets, routing, load balancers, private endpoints, firewalls, network security groups, gateways, and DNS. Support connectivity between AWS, Azure, corporate data centers, branch locations, and third-party environments. Work with technologies such as AWS Transit Gateway, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, application gateways, and web application firewalls. Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, routing, security, and performance issues across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Cost Optimization and Capacity Management Monitor and optimize AWS and Azure consumption, licensing, storage, compute, network, and managed service costs. Develop dashboards, reports, budgets, forecasts, and alerts to improve cloud financial visibility. Identify opportunities involving rightsizing, reserved capacity, savings plans, autoscaling, storage optimization, and removal of unused resources. Partner with technology, finance, and business teams to establish cloud cost governance and accountability. Promote FinOps practices and ensure cloud investments align with business value and operational requirements. Technical Leadership and Collaboration Serve as a trusted technical advisor to engineering, infrastructure, security, architecture, and business leadership. Lead technical design sessions, architecture reviews, proof-of-concept initiatives, and technology evaluations. Mentor DevOPS cloud engineers, system administrators, and software development teams. Provide guidance on cloud engineering standards, troubleshooting techniques, automation practices, and secure development processes.
