Its internal Digital Solutions function is modernising its technology stack and ways of working to deliver better digital experiences for students, colleagues and the broader community. The organisation has a mature enterprise IT function and a significant, growing investment in its Salesforce platform. It offers the stability of a large institution combined with genuine scope to shape enterprise architecture from the ground up. About the Role This is a senior architect role responsible for the strategic design, governance and ongoing evolution of the University's Salesforce DevOps capability. You will set the architectural direction, engineering standards and governance frameworks that underpin secure, scalable and reliable deployment, release and environment management across the Salesforce ecosystem. Working at enterprise level, you will design CI/CD architecture and release governance that allows multiple delivery streams to ship complex change in a controlled, automated and consistent way. You will act as the technical authority on Salesforce DevOps, working closely with architects, delivery teams, platform administrators and senior stakeholders to keep practices aligned with enterprise architecture, cyber security and risk objectives. Duties Lead the strategic direction, architecture and governance of the University's Salesforce DevOps capability, covering CI/CD, release management, deployment automation and environment management.Develop and continually evolve engineering standards and governance frameworks for source control, branching strategy, packaging, deployment methodology and release assurance.Own Salesforce environment strategy, including lifecycle management, provisioning and governance of development, testing, integration, UAT and production environments.Act as the technical authority for release governance, overseeing release planning, deployment assurance, change control and production readiness across concurrent delivery programs.Provide expert technical leadership and architectural guidance to solution architects, developers, platform administrators and implementation partners, mentoring technical staff along the way. Requirements Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent demonstrated professional experience in Salesforce platform engineering, DevOps, release management or enterprise application delivery.Demonstrated experience designing, governing or operating Salesforce CI/CD, release management and environment management practices in a complex enterprise environment.Hands on experience with Salesforce platform deployment tools and practices, including source control, sandbox strategy, automated deployment, testing coordination and release governance.Current Salesforce certification relevant to platform administration, development, architecture or DevOps, or the ability to obtain an agreed certification within a defined timeframe.Proven ability to provide technical leadership and work collaboratively with architects, administrators, delivery teams and implementation partners to support reliable platform delivery.
