Associate Web Developer

We are adding an Associate Web Developer to our team to support a project for a partner based in Berlin. In this role, you will focus on building the internal tools and dashboards that their operations teams use to manage their daily workflows. Rather than working on flashy public-facing websites, you will be creating practical interfaces that help people manage data and processes more effectively. Our clients hire us to solve real business problems, like replacing messy spreadsheets with stable databases or getting two separate pieces of software to share data reliably. The role As an Associate Web Developer, your day will be spent writing code for internal business applications. Much of the work involves moving data between different systems, building functional user interfaces, and cleaning up legacy code to make it easier to maintain. You will spend time reading API documentation, writing database queries, and ensuring that the tools we build are reliable. Because this is a fully remote role, you will also be documenting your progress clearly and recording short walkthrough videos of the features you build for our clients. We use a dependable stack including Node.js, React, and Postgres. You will not be expected to reinvent the wheel, but you will be expected to build things that are stable and useful. What you bring We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of building useful tools. Since this is an entry-level position, we do not expect you to be an expert in every technology, but we do need you to have a solid grasp of the basics. You should be comfortable writing readable code that others can understand without needing a manual. You should also be someone who finds satisfaction in solving a specific operational problem, even if the solution is not flashy. Clear communication is essential here, as we rely on written updates and asynchronous collaboration to keep our projects moving forward without constant meetings. Helpful background While we will help you get up to speed on our specific workflows, having some experience with our core tools will be beneficial. If you have built small projects using React or Node.js, or if you have worked with SQL databases like Postgres, you will be in a good position. Familiarity with GitHub for version control is important. Experience working with APIs, whether that is connecting a third-party service or building your own basic endpoints, is also a plus. We value curiosity and a willingness to learn how business software actually functions under the hood. This full-time position is paid, and the pay is competitive for the role and the market.
