Description
Angular Developer
Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Angular Developer.
Key Requirements:
- We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to further develop a web-based simulation platform for railway operations, using Angular, data-driven analytical views, interactive editors, and modern visualization components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Further development and maintenance of an Angular 21 web application using Standalone Components and signal-based state management.
- Implementation of data-driven analytical views such as time series, maps, tables, and graphical timetables, based on a generic KPI framework with GraphQL integration.
- Further development of WebGL-based map visualization (Deck.gl) for railway infrastructure and train movements.
- Development of editor interfaces for various data objects such as timetables, infrastructure, master data, and model parameters.
- Development and maintenance of reusable UI components (internal project component library) based on a company-wide design system.
- Integration of REST and GraphQL APIs, as well as Protobuf-based data communication.
- Reduction of technical debt, including resolving architectural violations, migrating from Leaflet to Deck.gl, and increasing test coverage.
- Design and execution of automated quality assurance measures, including unit tests and E2E tests.
Key Experience:
- Proven senior-level Angular development experience, with more than five years of professional frontend development experience, predominantly with Angular.
This should include a key role in module and component design as well as developing a state-management strategy.
- Practical experience with modern Angular from version 16 onwards, including Standalone Components, Angular Signals, and signal-based state management such as NgRx SignalStore or comparable solutions.
- Practical experience with agentic, AI-assisted software development in Agent Mode, not merely code autocompletion, using tools such as Kiro, Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable tools.
- Experience integrating REST and GraphQL APIs into an Angular frontend.
- Experience independently designing user interfaces, including the conception of complete views and interaction flows in Figma or a comparable tool, based on an existing design system, followed by implementation in Angular.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with WebGL-based map and geospatial visualization of large dynamic datasets, including interactive editing of map objects through selection, moving, and editing geometries and attributes, using Deck.gl, MapLibre, Three.js, or comparable technologies.
- Experience with high-performance visualization of large datasets using charting libraries such as Plotly.js, D3, ECharts, or comparable libraries, particularly for time series and interactive charts.
- Experience developing complex interactive editor and form interfaces for structured data objects, including dynamic forms, validation, dirty/undo handling, and conflict handling during concurrent editing.
- Experience with complex, high-performance table displays for large datasets using AG Grid Community, AG Grid Enterprise, or comparable solutions, including virtualization, server-side data models, and custom cell renderers.
- Experience with test-driven frontend development and automated testing as an established part of the working methodology, including unit testing with Vitest or Jest and E2E testing with Playwright or comparable tools.
- Experience implementing UIs based on a design system with Figma, including working with design tokens and variables and connecting design with code, for example using Figma Code Connect.
