Senior Backend Engineer (Python) Location: New York City | Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite Compensation: Up to $240,000 Base + Equity + Bonus We’re partnering with a fast-growing AI-native consumer intelligence platform that is transforming how major brands understand consumer behaviour and make strategic decisions. The platform brings together data from social media, consumer reviews, market research, internal systems and other sources to uncover emerging trends, generate actionable insights and help enterprise teams make faster, smarter decisions. They are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) who can combine strong hands-on engineering skills with the ability to think about architecture, scalability and system design at a higher level. The Role You’ll join a highly technical, early-stage engineering team building the backend infrastructure behind an AI and data intelligence platform operating at enterprise scale. You’ll be responsible for: Designing, building and scaling production backend services using Python and GoArchitecting high-volume data ingestion and processing pipelinesBuilding APIs supporting real-time, AI-driven enterprise applicationsDeveloping and scaling distributed systems and microservicesWorking with both SQL and NoSQL databasesProcessing large volumes of structured and unstructured dataCollaborating closely with AI/ML engineers to integrate intelligent models and workflows into productionWorking with emerging technologies including graph databases and Graph RAGDesigning systems for reliability, fault tolerance, observability and performanceContributing directly to system architecture and long-term technical decisionsHelping establish backend engineering best practices as the team continues to grow What We’re Looking For 5+ years of professional software development experience3+ years of professional Python experienceStrong hands-on backend engineering experienceExperience building production systems at scaleExperience with distributed systems and microservices architectureExperience working with SQL and NoSQL databasesStrong understanding of backend architecture and system designExperience working with large-scale data processing or data-intensive applicationsAbility and willingness to pick up Golang where requiredComfortable remaining highly hands-on with codingStrong ownership mentality and the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment Experience within a startup, scale-up, founding engineering team or other high-ownership environment would be highly desirable.
