How You’ll Make An Impact As a Staff Frontend Software Engineer, you will join a high-performing team of engineers who build, own, and maintain frontend services and products. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical vision and strategy for our frontend team, driving cross-functional collaboration, and steering the architecture of our podcast-centric platform. Your leadership will be essential in delivering a robust, performant, and scalable product, setting a high standard for the team and influencing the overall product roadmap. What You'll Do Define and evolve the long-term frontend architecture and technical strategyDrive the adoption of modern frontend engineering practices, ensuring consistency, maintainability, scalability and performance.Lead complex technical initiatives from design through production while balancing business priorities with engineering excellence.Translate ambiguous business goals into technical strategy, success metrics, and execution plans; present tradeoffs and recommendations to senior engineering leadership.Promote Design System best practices and ensure consistent implementation across applications.Champion component-driven development using Storybook and reusable UI patterns.Establish and evolve frontend standards, coding guidelines, architecture principles and engineering best practices.Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve front-end engineering capabilities.Lead technical discussions and architecture reviews across engineering teams.Drive improvements in Developer Experience (DX), build tooling, CI/CD and development workflows.Ensure applications meet high standards for accessibility (WCAG), responsive design and usability.Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and design documents. Create reusable patterns, reference implementations, and decision records adopted across teams to accelerate delivery and reduce rework.Define testing strategies including unit, integration, visual regression and end-to-end testing.Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, QA and DevOps to deliver high-quality products.Evaluate emerging technologies and guide framework evolution when appropriate.Identify technical debt and lead initiatives to continuously improve code quality and maintainability.Mentor and elevate other senior engineers across the organization through design reviews, technical coaching, and sharing architectural patterns What You'll Need Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a similar field.Ability to work independently and oversee entire projects or significant parts, focusing on completing the tasks on time.Proven ability to research and become proficient in new technologies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to continuous improvement.Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels. Core Frontend Experience 7+ years of professional Frontend development experience building large-scale enterprise applications. Expert knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES2023+) and the language internals.Strong understanding of TypeScript and advanced type system features.Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and browser rendering.Advanced CSS architecture including design tokens, flexbox, grids, modern selectors, etc.Advanced Sass architecture and scalable styling methodologies.Deep understanding of browser APIs and the DOM. Vue Ecosystem Expert experience with Vue 3.Composition API, component architecture, performance optimizationVue Router, Pinia, Vite.Vue ecosystem best practices. Angular Ecosystem A deep understanding of SPA frameworks, with Angular as a nice to have. Architecture Strong understanding of component-driven architecture.Micro Frontends (Module Federation or similar approaches) as a nice to have.Monorepo experience (Nx, Turborepo or similar) as a nice to have.Dependency management strategies.API integration patterns.Performance-first architecture. Accessibility & UX Expert understanding of WCAG 2.2.Semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, screen reader support, ARIA Authoring Practices.Focus management, responsive and adaptive design.Cross-browser compatibility.
