Company Description
Titan Robotics is a new company dedicated to building the universal platform that connects and orchestrates robots from multiple manufacturers.
Recognizing that the future of robotics lies in interoperability, the company focuses on integrating diverse robotic systems — arms, mobile bases, sensors, and end effectors from different vendors — into a single, cohesive ecosystem.
This approach enables organizations to scale automation efficiently, adapt to evolving technologies, and reduce complexity in multi-robot environments.
Role Description
The Infrastructure/Backend Engineer is a full-time, hands-on role responsible for the systems that connect robots to the rest of the platform and keep that connection reliable, secure, and observable.
This role owns the networking layer that lets robots operate remotely — including secure tunneling between robots and the cloud, remote terminal and dashboard access, and the web platform and database behind it all.
You'll work closely with the robotics and ML engineers, since training data, deployed models, and live teleoperation sessions all depend on this layer working correctly under real, sometimes unreliable network conditions.
Qualifications
- Strong experience building and operating networking infrastructure -- reverse proxies, tunneling/relay systems, or similar, including debugging real production issues (timeouts, payload size limits, connection drops) under live traffic.
- Comfortable with both the security and the plumbing of remote access -- secure credential handling, encrypted connections, and building tools that let operators reach remote hardware safely (e.g., browser-based terminal/SSH access).
- Solid backend web development experience -- server-side logic, relational databases, and background job processing (long-running tasks with live progress reporting, not just fire-and-forget scripts).
- Experience with Linux systems administration -- process management (systemd or equivalent), deployment, and diagnosing failures directly from logs rather than guesswork.
- Comfortable working close to hardware-adjacent systems -- this infrastructure exists to serve real robots and real uploads (including large ones, like AI model checkpoints), not just typical web traffic.
- Genuinely enjoys methodical debugging -- tracing a failure through multiple layers (browser, web server, application code, network relay, remote device) to find the real root cause rather than the first plausible one.
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team where you own your area end to end, from initial design to production reliability.
- Bonus: experience with WebSocket-based systems, or with infrastructure supporting real-time/low-latency applications.
Compensation
This is a pre-funding, founding-team role, compensated entirely in equity -- a meaningful stake reflecting the impact of an early technical hire -- rather than salary.
Once funding closes, this role will be positioned for a competitive salary going forward.
