About Us & The Project Piano is a global AI-driven platform for digital revenue optimization, trusted by industry leaders like the BBC, Nikkei, and Wall Street Journal. We are expanding our core infrastructure team and hiring for two key positions: a Tech Lead and a Senior DevOps / Release Engineer. Together, you will join a lean, highly focused team owning the CI/CD pipelines and Release Management lifecycle for our core billing & subscription platform. Managing a high-complexity hybrid architecture (monolith core + microservices), you’ll drive deployment safety, pipeline reliability, and release governance for a global customer base. What You’ll Do Technical Ownership & Leadership: Design end-to-end CI/CD strategy and drive engineering best practices (the Tech Lead will additionally lead, mentor, and set direction for the 2–3 person team).Pipeline & Release Management: Own build, test, staging, and production workflows, including branching strategies, runbooks, and rollback procedures.Quality & Reliability: Enforce release confidence using automated testing gates (JUnit 5, Testcontainers), progressive delivery strategies (canary, feature flags), and rapid incident resolution.Observability & DORA Metrics: Instrument pipelines using Datadog and OpenTelemetry to track deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR, and change failure rate.Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with software architects and engineering teams to embed CI/CD best practices across the SDLC. What We’re Looking For For the Senior Role: 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform, or Release Engineering.For the Tech Lead Role: 7+ years in DevOps/Platform Engineering, with 2+ years in a technical leadership capacity. Core Requirements (Both Roles): Tech Stack Expertise: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS (EKS, ECS, S3, IAM, Secrets Manager), and pipeline-as-code tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).App & Build Understanding: Practical familiarity with Java 21 / Kotlin 2.0 / Spring Boot applications and Gradle (Kotlin DSL).Delivery & Testing Culture: Strong background in branching strategies (Trunk-based, GitFlow), automated testing quality gates, and Observability-first principles (Datadog/OTel).Languages: Polish and English (at least B2 level). Nice to Have: Terraform/Pulumi, Apache Kafka operational awareness, database migration tools (Flyway/Liquibase), Feature Flags (LaunchDarkly/Unleash), and experience with complex monoliths.
