We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to our mission of protecting the UK through data-driven insights and solutions. As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with our public sector clients and project teams to design, develop, and implement software solutions that meet our clients’ requirements. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with clients to understand their software engineering needs and objectivesDesign, develop, test, and implement high-quality software solutions using industry best practices and coding standardsUtilise your expertise in various programming languages, frameworks, and technologies to architect robust and scalable systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to gather project requirements, analyse feasibility, and provide technical recommendationsDevelop secure, clean, efficient, and well documented code, ensuring code quality through testing, debugging, and code reviewsStay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in software engineering and share your knowledge with the teamCollaborate with project managers to ensure successful project delivery within the defined timelines and budgetAccurately delivering high quality work to agreed timelines, including taking the initiative and knowing how to jump straight inSupporting client engagements, including pitches and presentationsHelping to support & grow Daintta by actively inputting into the company strategy and helping to shape our futureRepresenting us and our core values: Transparent, Fair and Daring Skills/Knowledge The role requires the following key skills / knowledge, non-exhaustively: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related fieldProfessional experience as software engineer, preferably in a consultancy or industry settingExperience with multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, C++, Rust, or GoExperience with associated software development frameworks and tools such as pytest and OpenAPIExperience working in Unix/Linux environmentsKnowledge of database systems and proficiency in database query languages/toolsFamiliarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum. In particular iterative approaches to software development in conjunction with the clientExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to find innovative solutions to complex technical challengesExcellent communication and presentation skills or Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team membersAbility to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in fast-paced environmentsA passion for delivering high quality software solutions that meet client expectationsExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google CloudFamiliarity with DevOps practices and principles, such as CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (e.g. Docker) and associated orchestrationKnowledge of software security principles and best practices Location?
