Production Engineering Specialist

We’re looking for a Production Engineering Specialist to join a global financial services and banking technology environment, supporting mission-critical platforms that power international payments and financial transactions. You’ll work at the intersection of Production Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud, DevOps and Application Support, helping ensure that highly available payment services remain stable, resilient and performant. You’ll join a technically strong Production Support team responsible for Global Payments Execution, Messaging & Orchestration services, working across a broad technology landscape — from vendor platforms to internally developed microservices. What you’ll be doing Provide end-to-end production support, from live incident resolution through post-incident problem management and root cause analysisTroubleshoot complex technical issues across application, database, OS, network and infrastructure layersInvestigate major incidents and identify root causes, using data analysis, monitoring and technical diagnosticsSupport releases, implementations and testing activities across production environmentsDevelop and implement automation and locally developed solutions using Bash, Python and shell scriptingWork with Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle, Kafka and Linux in a mission-critical environmentMonitor system health and performance and contribute to performance tuning and service stabilitySupport and improve CI/CD processes and automated deployment pipelinesIdentify opportunities to re-engineer processes, introduce new technologies and improve operational efficiencyCollaborate with vendors, project teams, Incident Management, senior stakeholders and globally distributed technology teamsAnalyse data and investigate anomalies to support troubleshooting and reconciliation activities What we’re looking for 3+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform3+ years of experience with Oracle SQL / PL/SQL3+ years of experience with Linux and Bash2+ years of experience with KubernetesStrong understanding of Oracle database architecture and componentsExperience with shell scripting and automation, particularly Bash and/or PythonGood understanding of system monitoring and performance tuningStrong analytical, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skillsExperience working in environments with frequent change and automated CI/CD pipelinesSolid understanding of technology layers across an application landscape — storage, OS, network, database and applicationExperience working in Agile / DevOps and production support environmentsExcellent spoken and written English Your technology toolkit Core: Oracle SQL / PL/SQL Linux Bash Google Cloud Platform Kubernetes Also used: Kafka Python Splunk AppDynamics Nice to have: Java Puppet / Ansible or similar Hazelcast A big plus Experience within the payments industry, particularly SEPA or SWIFT, will be highly valued.
