We are looking for experienced Java developers to join Twoday and work with long-term, business-critical digital solutions within the Danish healthcare sector.
You will become part of a complex engineering environment where applications, integrations and large volumes of data need to work reliably together.
Several development teams and suppliers collaborate across the delivery, making strong engineering practices, clear communication and shared responsibility essential.
We are looking for developers who are equally comfortable building new functionality and understanding existing systems that have evolved over time.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Senior Java Backend Developer, you will take an active role throughout the software development lifecycle, from technical clarification and design through implementation, testing and production.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Developing and maintaining backend solutions using Java and Spring/Spring BootDesigning and implementing APIs and system integrationsWorking with distributed and event-driven systemsDeveloping secure, robust, testable and maintainable softwareWriting automated tests and participating in code reviewsTroubleshooting across applications, integrations and data flowsContributing to the modernisation of existing solutions and reduction of technical debtCollaborating closely with architects, testers, DevOps specialists and other developersTaking ownership of your work from clarification and design through to implementation and operation
Depending on the team and solution, you may work with technologies and principles such as Java, Spring Boot, REST, SOAP, Kafka, messaging, OAuth2/OIDC, microservices, Domain-Driven Design, event-driven architecture, SQL, Git, Docker and CI/CD.
What We Are Looking For
You have solid professional experience in Java backend development and are accustomed to working with complex systems where integration, stability and software quality matter.
We are particularly interested in experience across several of the following areas:
Java and Spring/Spring BootREST APIs and system integrationAsynchronous communication and messagingKafka or similar event-based technologiesMicroservices and distributed systemsRelational databases and SQLAutomated testingGit and CI/CDSecurity in modern applications and APIsProduction support and troubleshooting of business-critical systems
Experience within digital healthcare or the public sector is a strong advantage, particularly if you have worked with national healthcare solutions, healthcare integrations, healthcare data or similarly complex application landscapes.
Experience working in environments where several suppliers and development teams collaborate on a shared delivery is also valuable.
Professional fluency in Danish, both spoken and written, is required.
You must also be able to work onsite at the customer location in Copenhagen when required.
