About The Role We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with expertise in Ansible, Python, and container management to join our dynamic team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will serve as a critical link between development and operations, ensuring the stability, automation, and continuous deployment of our IT infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, automate deployment processes, and support our Python-based applications and containerized environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on modern, pragmatic tech stacks such as Docker, Nomad, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines, contributing to the evolution of our infrastructure and enhancing operational efficiency. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a relevant IT qualification, such as an IT apprenticeship, university degree, or demonstrable professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Linux system engineering. Proven experience with Ansible for automation and IaC is essential. Strong Linux skills, including Bash scripting and familiarity with Python, are required. Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker-Compose is necessary, along with experience in managing support tickets via ITSM tools like Jira or ServiceNow. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitLab, is highly desirable. Nice-to-have skills include experience with HashiCorp Nomad, monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Greylog, and basic understanding of databases like PostgreSQL or Oracle, as well as Python application stacks like FastAPI and Airflow. Responsibilities Lead automation efforts through Infrastructure as Code by developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks for configuration management and deployment of virtual Linux environments.Serve as a primary point of contact for technical support, handling service requests, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within the ITSM framework using tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.Manage containerized environments by creating and maintaining Docker-Compose deployments for static applications and utilizing Nomad for dynamic service orchestration.Develop, optimize, and monitor CI/CD pipelines with GitLab to ensure reliable deployment and operation of Python applications (FastAPI, Airflow) and web frontends built with Vue.js.Administer Linux servers, ensuring system stability, performance, and security by leveraging monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Greylog to proactively identify and address potential issues.Support the operation of Docker-based applications such as KIDICAP and collaborate with database teams managing Oracle and PostgreSQL systems to facilitate smooth data operations.Contribute to process improvements by integrating automation solutions, enhancing system resilience, and supporting continuous delivery practices.
