Description

Ocean Consulting Services is building its Dubai technology team, and we are looking for a PHP Developer to join as one of the first engineers in the office. This role is focused on developing and improving the company’s core backend infrastructure and internal product systems. For the first people joining, this is an opportunity to have a real impact on building the foundation of a new technology team in Dubai, as part of a distributed technology organization working across regions. What you will do: Develop and maintain backend APIs using PHP.Work with MySQL databases, including database design, queries, and performance-related issues.Build and maintain frontend interfaces using JavaScript and React.Work with AI-assisted development tools as part of the daily development process.Work in a Linux environment.Troubleshoot production issues and support existing systems.Work closely with the engineering team on product and infrastructure needs. What we are looking for: Strong hands-on experience with PHP.Experience with MySQL.Experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.Experience with JavaScript and React.Experience working with Linux.Experience developing backend APIs.Ability to work with databases and understand system flows.Practical problem-solving skills.Independent working style and good communication.
