Role Overview: As a Senior Backend Engineer at Arki, you’ll take the reins of building robust, scalable, and secure backend systems that power our digital wealth advisory platform. This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about creating impactful solutions, thrives on tackling technical challenges, and enjoys collaborating with a team to deliver world-class fintech experiences. What You’ll Do: Design and implement scalable backend systems, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs for seamless communication between systems and users.Work with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) to manage, store, and optimise financial data.Partner with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver end-to-end solutions that delight users.Implement best practices in data security and ensure compliance with financial regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).Continuously monitor, optimise, and refactor backend code to improve system performance and scalability.Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to drive our technical capabilities forward. About You: 8 years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of building and deploying scalable systems.Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java. Experience with microservices architecture is a plus.Skilled in designing and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.Proficient with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.Thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to pivot and deliver under tight timelines.Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on building strong relationships across teams.Interest in financial technology and a desire to build solutions that empower users to take control of their financial futures.
