Senior Backend Software Engineer

They are now seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to play a pivotal role in the evolution of their core platform. This is a high-impact position within a product-led, cloud-native environment where backend architecture, performance and scalability are critical. The Role You will design, build and optimise high-performance Java-based web services and containerised microservices that power a sophisticated analytics platform used by international clients. You will have meaningful influence over backend architecture, cloud deployment strategy and engineering standards. Key Responsibilities Design and build scalable Java-based RESTful services Develop and maintain containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS) Contribute to secure identity and access management (Keycloak exposure advantageous) Collaborate closely with data engineering teams on complex datasets Drive best practice in code quality, performance and architecture Support Azure-based cloud infrastructure The candidate profile 6+ years’ professional software engineering experience Strong expertise in Java and backend systems design Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS preferred) Strong SQL and database fundamentals Experience building and scaling production systems Analytical mindset with comfort operating in data-heavy environments Ability to mentor and influence technical direction The Environment Modern cloud stack (Java, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker) Hybrid working model (Dublin-based HQ) High ownership and autonomy Engineering seen as a strategic driver of the business To learn more about this fantastic opportunity, contact the Talent Partners team today.
