The Opportunity As a result of several new, exciting projects underway, we are looking to grow our team, and are seeking an experienced Senior Developer, Applications to join us in our Newcastle Office. This is a hands-on development role focused on designing and building high-quality software solutions while strengthening the technical capability of the team. You will remain actively involved in software development while contributing to solution architecture, technical decisions, engineering standards, mentoring and code reviews. The role will add depth and experience in solution design, .NET development, APIs, Azure and application modernisation. What You'll Be DoingDesign, develop and support business-critical applications using .NET and C#Design and document application and integration solutions from high-level architecture through to detailed implementationDesign and build secure, scalable REST APIs, considering contract design, consistency, versioning and maintainabilityDeliver application solutions using Microsoft Azure, including API Management, Key Vault, Storage, App Services and container hostingHelp modernise existing and monolithic applications into more modular, loosely coupled services where appropriateDesign secure applications using appropriate authentication, authorisation and secure coding practicesWrite clean, maintainable and well-tested codeParticipate in architecture discussions, technical decision-making and code reviewsMentor developers and promote engineering standards, reusable patterns and knowledge sharingWork closely with Business Analysts, DevOps and other technology teamsMonitor and optimise applications using logging and application monitoring toolsInvestigate complex production issues and implement sustainable solutionsSupport application deployments and provide Level 2 and Level 3 application support as required What We're Looking For5+ years' software development experience with strong hands-on coding capabilityStrong .NET and C# development experienceSolid SQL and relational database design experiencePractical experience delivering applications within Microsoft AzureStrong understanding of REST API design and enterprise integration patternsExperience designing secure, maintainable and scalable software solutionsExperience working with or modernising large or monolithic applicationsExperience with modern source control and CI/CD practicesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholdersComfortable mentoring others while remaining an active software developerDesirable ExperienceAzure API ManagementDocker and containerised application developmentAzure Application Insights or similar monitoring toolsService-oriented or event-driven architecturesLegacy .NET application modernisationAgile software delivery Why Join Us?This role provides the opportunity to work on business-critical systems supporting a global luxury travel company while helping modernise a diverse application landscape.
