Opportunity to work on challenging, high-performance interfaces involving large visual documents and dense data tables, with strong emphasis on product quality, speed, and learning.
Description
About Bobyard
Bobyard builds AI systems that automate takeoffs for contractors, saving them dozens of hours per project in a multi-trillion industry still running on spreadsheets and guesswork.
Contractors live in our product all day β the interface has to be fast, precise, and obvious.
We're Series A, backed by 8VC, Primary, and Pear, and growing fast.
About The Role
You'll work on the hardest UI problem we have: rendering large construction drawings and dense estimate tables without friction.
Think canvas rendering, pan/zoom performance, and tables with hundreds of rows that still feel instant.
You don't need prior experience with canvas or data-dense interfaces β you need strong React/TypeScript fundamentals, real product taste, and to be a fast learner ready to go deep on a problem most junior roles never touch.
You don't need to check every box below β if the hard problem excites you, apply.
What You'll Do
Build and ship core product UI in React and TypeScriptTurn rough product direction and designs into polished, production-ready interfacesWork on frontend performance β fast loads, smooth interactions, responsive rendering of large drawings and data-dense tablesContribute to a reusable component library the team ships onWork directly with product and design to shape features, not just implement themPrototype quickly, gather feedback, and iterate toward the right UXDiagnose and fix frontend bugs, rendering issues, and state management problems
What We're Looking For
Strong React and modern CSS skills β you can build complex layouts and interactions without reaching for a library every timeReal design sense β you notice when spacing, hierarchy, or motion is off, and you fix it without being askedComfortable working from rough product direction β can fill the gap between a mock and a shippable featureFluent in TypeScript, component architecture, and frontend state managementHigh ownership mindset β you don't wait to be told what to fixFast learner who can navigate unfamiliar systems and tools quicklyBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
