What You'll Be Doing Design and build RESTful APIs for our front-end applications and partners, ensuring robust performance and scalability. Designing and building RESTful APIs for our front-end applications and partnersIntegrating with a range of external services such as Salesforce, Auth0, Cloudflare, and moreArchitecting solutions that meet our high availability, security, and performance requirementsMaintaining our infrastructure on a major cloud provider to support our rapid growthWriting well-structured, tested, and documented code that's a pleasure to maintainMentor and guide junior backend engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.Working closely with our Product, Design, and other teams to refine deliverables and bring new features to life We're seeking a passionate backend engineer who can solve complex technical problems and communicate solutions with ease . Required Experience: Minimum 5 years of commercial Ruby on Rails experienceProven experience integrating with multiple external APIsExperience with database design and performance tuning, particularly with PostgreSQLExperience designing and maintaining infrastructure with AWS, GCP, or HerokuExperience with testing frameworks like RspecExperience with high-volume background job processing frameworks like SidekiqExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.Understanding of application security principles and secure coding practices.Strong experience designing and maintaining both public and private REST APIsProficiency with development tools like Linear or JiraStrong written and verbal communication skillsBonus Points: Experience with security best practices (e.g., OWASP, STRIDE)Experience with synchronising data between distributed systemsExperience in high-volume production environments with strict availability SLAsKnowledge of the financial services industry (lending or corporate finance)A Computer Science degreeExperience navigating GDPR and/or SOC2 Benefits & Culture We're a remote-friendly team, but if you prefer an office environment, our Surry Hills space is open, dog-friendly, and empowering.
