Java Backend Engineer – Global Wave Group
Location: Albany, Auckland (Office based)
Working hours: 2 - 10:30 P.M.
from Monday to Friday
Reports to: Head of IT
Role Purpose
The Java Backend Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power critical business applications.
This role will work closely with product managers, QA engineers, and fellow developers to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring BootBuild scalable RESTful APIs and microservicesDesign and optimize database structures and queriesIntegrate with third-party systems and external APIsParticipate in system architecture and technical design discussionsMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issuesImprove application performance, reliability, and securityWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented codePerform code reviews and share technical knowledge with team membersCollaborate within Agile development teams
Essential Requirements
