Description

Job Description Join our Cloud Archive squad to build a greenfield solution that will replace Danske Bank's decades-old mainframe archive holding 44 billion documents. You will contribute to a system serving hundreds of millions of requests yearly while growing as an engineer working with event-driven architecture and distributed microservices at scale. What You Will Be Doing You will become part of a small, growing team of software engineers building a modern archive solution that performs at scale whilst ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. Working alongside experienced engineers in Aarhus, you will contribute to critical banking infrastructure that serves millions of customers and colleagues across the bank. Build and improve Java services and APIs for document storage and retrievalWrite clean, tested and maintainable code with regular code reviewsEnhance reliability through logging, monitoring, alerting and performance testingWork with AWS-based services and infrastructure under guidance from experienced engineersCollaborate with the Product Owner to understand requirements and deliver stable solutionsLearn the archive domain gradually whilst taking increasing ownership of components About You Solid foundation in Java development with focus on clean, maintainable codeFamiliarity with cloud concepts, preferably AWS but Azure or GCP also acceptableGood understanding of REST APIs and service-to-service integration patternsExperience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipeline conceptsWillingness to work in regulated environments prioritizing security and complianceCollaborative mindset that values team success over individual achievementsFluent in Danish for effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders Knowledge of domain-driven design, event-driven patterns, high-volume systems, or financial services experience would be valuable additions to bring to the role.
